Our mission

ConvertMyUnit was built on a simple idea: unit conversion shouldn't be complicated, slow, or buried under ads. Whether you're a student double-checking homework, an engineer working with tight tolerances, a healthcare worker reading lab results, or a home cook scaling a recipe — you deserve a tool that just works.

What we cover

ConvertMyUnit supports conversions across more than 15 categories of units, including:

• Everyday units: length, weight, temperature, volume, area, speed, time
• Engineering: pressure, energy, power, force, torque, density
• Digital: data storage, frequency
• Scientific: angle, fuel economy, astronomical units, light years
• Medical: blood glucose, cholesterol

How accuracy works

All conversion factors are sourced from internationally accepted standards — the International System of Units (SI), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM). Calculations use 64-bit floating-point arithmetic and round results to a precision appropriate for each unit type. For very large or very small values, results are presented in scientific notation automatically.

How we keep it fast

The site is built with vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — no heavy frameworks. Conversions happen instantly in your browser without server round-trips. Pages are server-rendered for fast first paint, then enhanced with JavaScript for live interactivity.

Privacy first

We don't require accounts, don't ask for personal information, and don't sell data. The only data we collect is anonymous traffic analytics and standard advertising data through Google AdSense (see our Privacy Policy for details).
